Is dust pollution at the cement terminal difficult to control? That's because of a lack of knowledge about these two sets of equipment.

Mar 15, 2021

The dust pollution during loading and unloading of bulk cement has always been a trouble in the operation at the cement terminal due to the particularity of the material. Water spraying vehicles, dust removal mist guns and greening are usually adopted to solve this problem, but not fundamentally. Only by tackling the dust leakage in the process of unloading and conveying cement can dust pollution on site be essentially under control, as the key to dust control is dust suppression.

The key to cope with dust leakage lies in the dust suppression ability of cement unloading and conveying equipment.  As a professional solution provider to bulk cement loading, unloading and conveying, RHM has done a great deal of research in this field,  and has launched two brand products at present, which can efficiently address this difficulty.

I. GENMA Cement Pneumatic Ship Unloader

GENMA Cement Pneumatic Ship Unloader(hereinafter referred to as GENMA Ship Unloader) is bulk cement loading and unloading equipment specially developed by RHM for cement terminals, with the maximum unloading capacity of 600t/h. This device can be used for ships with the maximum deadweight tonnage up to 60,000. It can be designed into fixed type, rail type or wheel type according to the actual situation of wharves.

GENMA has been committed to the research of dust control technology for a long time. According to the characteristics of different bulk materials, it has developed corresponding solutions to effectively tackle dust pollution in the process of continuous bulk material unloading.

Then, compared with general pneumatic ship unloaders, what are the advantages of GENMA products?

Unique design of dust removal cylinder - downsized by 40%, with the dust leakage rate of 0
GENMA Ship Unloader adopts a unique design of dust cylinder, which combines gravity separation and filter bag separation technology, greatly reducing the structure size of dust removal mechanism, reducing the burden of filter element and improving the dust removal efficiency. GENMA Ship Unloader is completely closed in the whole process of dust removal to ensure no leakage of cement dust.

Design of multifolded filter bag - with dust filtration area increased by twice

With the same diameter of the filter cylinder as those of general ship unloaders, GENMA Ship Unloader is equipped with a multifolded filter bag with the filtration area increased by twice, improving the dust removal effect, reducing the volume of the filter bag, effectively decreasing the operation energy consumption and accordingly cutting down the early manufacturing cost and the later maintenance cost. In addition, the new filter bag adopted by GENMA Ship Unloader reduces the filtration pressure loss and achieves better dust removal effect.

Multi-stage turbine blower technology - energy consumption reduced by 30%

GENMA's multi-stage turbine blower technology, always ahead of the Roots blower technology of other business competitors, has resolved the problems of traditional pneumatic ship unloaders - high energy consumption and loud noise. Compared with general pneumatic ship unloaders, GENMA Ship Unloader can save energy by nearly 30%, and the super adsorption force greatly improves the efficiency of unloading.

In recent years, with the continuous update and iteration of GENMA technology, the operation efficiency of GENMA Ship Unloader is improved by the technology of permanent magnet motor-driven blower, which further reduces the operation energy consumption of the whole machine.

Flexible boom design - workload of hold cleaning reduced by 25%

It takes most of the time to remove residual materials during ship unloading at wharves. Therefore, GENMA Ship Unloader is designed to have four hydraulic pitching booms, flexible and efficient. With the new rotating power suction nozzle, it can effectively collect the residual cement at the corners of ship's hold, greatly reducing the workload of hold cleaning and terminal operating costs.

If GENMA Cement Pneumatic Ship Unloader is the "Heaven Sword" to control the dust pollution at cement wharves, then another brand product of RHM - KOCH Pipe Conveyor System is the "Dragon Saber".

II. KOCH Pipe Conveyor System

KOCH Pipe Conveyor System (hereinafter referred to as KOCH Conveyor) is equipment specially developed by KOCH of RHM for conveying all kinds of bulk materials (cement, magnesium powder, grain and almost all bulk materials), with the maximum conveying capacity of 8,000 tons/hour and the maximum conveying distance of 8.2 km.

With extensive experience in bulk material conveying, KOCH has installed more than 350 Pipe Conveyor System in more than 40 countries and regions since 1985. At present, there is no tubular belt conveyor in the world that can realize installation, application and production operation as completely and extensively as KOCH.

Compared with ordinary belt conveyors, KOCH has obvious advantages:

1.Design of fully-enclosed conveying space - 0 cement dust pollution along the way

The design of fully-enclosed conveying space of KOCH Conveyor is very friendly to the environment, as dust pollution, leakage and waste in the cement conveying process are avoided. Meanwhile, with this design, the conveyor can prevent the materials from being drenched in rain. In addition, this equipment is characterized by low noise and no disturbance. KOCH Conveyor can cross roads, railways, waterways, as well as existing factories, public streets, and even protected environmental areas.

2.Breaking through the conveying limit - 8.2km over-distance conveying
With the maximum axial conveying distance of 8.2 km, KOCH Conveyor can turn in 3 dimensions without any transfer station. Its charging and return belts can convey different kinds of materials at the same time, and multiple feeding points can be set.

3.Design of more flexible small conveying spaces - space saved by 60%

Regardless of site conditions, KOCH Conveyor minimizes delivery distances from the bulk material wharf to the cement plant to achieve the highest cost performance of the production line layout. Compared to traditional belt conveyors, the space occupied by KOCH Conveyor in the area it passes through can be reduced by 60%.

4.Design of adaptability to all terrain - more than 190 successful cases of adaptability to complex terrain

With more than 190 successful cases of adaptability to complex terrain, KOCH has extensive experience in customized design. These bulk material conveyor systems used in the Gobi Desert, hills and rapids have been in stable operation, demonstrating KOCH's leading bulk material conveying technology.

Pipe Conveyor System has been used successfully in Malaysia Cement Plant where cement is transported to a ship loading station offshore without being affected by high humidity. Since 1995, the system has proven to be highly reliable and capable of operating in extreme conditions.

To sum up, the use of GENMA Cement Pneumatic Ship Unloader and KOCH Pipe Conveyor System through the seamless connection between can ensure no dust pollution in the process of cement unloading and conveying from a transport ship to the terminal, which is the best plan of constructing a modern green wharf.
